About this image to pdf

This tool turns JPG, PNG, WebP and other images into a single PDF. Add your pictures, put them in order, choose a page size and margin, and create the PDF with one click. Each image becomes one page.

It is built for the documents people actually send: scanned pages, receipts, homework, ID photos and application forms. Phone photos come out the right way up, and JPG photos are placed in the PDF without being re-compressed, so they stay as sharp as the originals.

Everything happens in your browser. Your images are never uploaded, which matters when the pages contain passports, bank details or medical records. There is no sign-up and no watermark.

Features

  • Many images, one PDF

Add as many images as you need and get one PDF with a page for each, in the order you choose.

  • Easy reordering

Drag rows to reorder them, use the up and down arrows from the keyboard, or sort the list by file name with one click.

  • A4, Letter, Legal or same as image

Choose a standard paper size, or let each page match its image. Each image is scaled to fit its page and centered.

  • Orientation and margins

Auto orientation gives wide images landscape pages and tall images portrait pages. Choose no margin, a small 0.25 inch margin or a large 0.5 inch margin.

  • Original quality for JPG and PNG

JPG and PNG files are embedded as they are, without re-compression. Transparent PNGs keep their transparency.

  • Smaller file option

Turn on Smaller file to shrink photos to 2000 pixels and save them as JPG. The PDF becomes much lighter for email and upload forms.

  • Upright phone photos

Photos taken in portrait mode carry a rotation tag. The tool applies it, so pages aren't sideways.

How to use the image to pdf

  1. 1Add images and put them in order.
  2. 2Choose page size, orientation and margin.
  3. 3Click Create PDF and download.

When to use it

  • Scanned documents

Photograph each page of a contract or form with your phone, then combine the photos into one PDF to sign or send.

  • Job and visa applications

Many portals ask for certificates, IDs and photos as a single PDF. Put them in the right order and keep the file small with the Smaller file option.

  • Receipts and expenses

Turn a month of receipt photos into one PDF for your accountant or expense report.

  • Homework and notes

Students can combine photos of handwritten pages into one PDF to submit to a teacher or online class.

  • Portfolios

Use Same as image pages and no margin to make a clean PDF of artwork or design work.

What page size should I use?

Use A4 if you or the person receiving the PDF is outside the United States and Canada. Use US Letter inside them. Legal is longer and is mostly used for some US legal and real estate forms.

Choose Same as image when the PDF will only be read on screen, such as a portfolio or a set of slides. Each page then has the exact shape of its picture and there are no empty bands.

  • A4: 210 × 297 mm (8.27 × 11.69 in)
  • US Letter: 8.5 × 11 in (216 × 279 mm)
  • US Legal: 8.5 × 14 in (216 × 356 mm)

How to keep the PDF small

A modern phone photo can be 3 to 8 MB, and the PDF is roughly the sum of its images. Twenty photos can easily make a 100 MB file that email won't accept.

The Smaller file option resizes each image so its longest side is 2000 pixels and saves it as JPG. That is still sharp enough to read and print an A4 page, and it often makes the PDF five to ten times smaller.

If you need full quality for printing, leave Smaller file off. JPG and PNG images are then placed in the PDF exactly as they are.

Will my photos be the right way up?

Phones usually save photos sideways and add a tag that tells viewers how to rotate them. Many PDF tools ignore that tag, which is why pages come out sideways.

This tool reads the tag. Rotated photos are turned upright before they are placed on the page, so what you see in your gallery is what you get in the PDF.

Tips

  • Name your files with numbers, such as page-01.jpg and page-02.jpg, and use Sort A–Z to put them in order in one click.
  • Use Auto orientation when you mix portrait and landscape images. Each page then matches its picture.
  • Choose a small margin for scans so nothing gets cut off when the PDF is printed.
  • Turn on Smaller file before emailing. Most mail services limit attachments to 20 or 25 MB.
  • Use Open in new tab to check the PDF before you download or send it.

Questions

How do I combine multiple images into one PDF?

Add all your images, put them in order by dragging or with the arrow buttons, then click Create PDF. Every image becomes one page of the same PDF.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF is created inside your browser, and your images never leave your device. That makes it safe for IDs, statements and other private documents.

Why are my phone photos the right way up?

Phones store a rotation tag with each photo. The tool reads that tag and turns the photo upright before placing it in the PDF.

Does converting to PDF reduce image quality?

Not by default. JPG and PNG files are embedded as they are. Other formats, and rotated photos, are saved at high quality. Only the Smaller file option deliberately reduces size and resolution.

How do I make the PDF smaller?

Turn on Smaller file. Each image is resized to 2000 pixels on its longest side and saved as JPG, which usually cuts the PDF size a lot.

Can I use PNG, WebP or GIF images?

Yes. PNG keeps its transparency. WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF are converted on your device first. For animated GIFs, only the first frame is used.

Can I add HEIC photos from an iPhone?

Yes in browsers that can open HEIC, such as Safari. In other browsers the tool tells you which file it couldn't read so you can remove it.

What page size should I choose?

A4 for most countries, US Letter for the United States and Canada, or Same as image if the PDF will only be viewed on screen.

Is there a limit on how many images I can add?

There is no fixed limit. Very large sets depend on your device's memory. If the PDF fails to build, turn on Smaller file or split the images into a few PDFs.
