Merge PDF
Combine multiple PDFs into one, in any order. Runs in your browser.
About this merge pdf
Merge PDF combines two or more PDF files into a single document. Add your files, put them in the order you want, and download one PDF. You can also pick only some pages from each file, so you can build a clean document without opening an editor first.
Everything happens inside your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server, so contracts, bank statements, medical records and ID scans stay on your device. There is no account, no daily task limit and no watermark.
The tool copies pages from the original files as they are. It does not re-render or recompress them, so text stays sharp and searchable and images keep their original quality.
Features
Private by design
Files are read and merged on your device. Nothing is sent over the network, and closing the tab clears everything.
Reorder with buttons or keyboard
Each file has up and down buttons, so you can set the order with a mouse, a touch screen or the keyboard. A Sort A to Z button orders files by name, with numbers sorted naturally (2 before 10).
Choose pages from each file
Leave the page box empty to include the whole file, or type a range such as 1-3, 5, 8- to include only those pages. Mistakes like a page that doesn't exist are flagged right under the file.
Checks files before you merge
Every PDF is opened as soon as you add it, so you see its page count straight away. Damaged files and password-protected files are marked with a plain explanation instead of failing at the end.
Original quality
Pages are copied, not converted to images. Fonts, vector graphics, text selection and image resolution stay exactly as they were in the source files.
Works with large files
Files are processed one at a time with a progress bar, which keeps memory use lower. There is no fixed size limit; the practical limit is your device's memory.
Name your file
Type the name you want for the merged PDF before downloading. The .pdf extension is added for you if you leave it out.
How to use the merge pdf
- 1Add two or more PDFs.
- 2Put them in order with the arrow buttons. Optionally type a page range for any file.
- 3Click Merge and download.
When to use it
Job applications
Join a cover letter, CV and certificates into one PDF when a form accepts only a single upload.
Invoices and receipts
Combine a month of invoices or expense receipts into one file for your accountant or an expense claim.
Scanned documents
Many scanners save each page as a separate PDF. Merge them back into one document in the right order.
Course and study packs
Put lecture notes, readings and assignments together, and keep only the chapters you need with page ranges.
Reports and proposals
Attach appendices, spreadsheets exported as PDF and signed pages to a main report.
How merging keeps the original quality
A PDF page is a set of drawing instructions plus the fonts and images it uses. When this tool merges files, it copies those instructions and resources into a new document. It does not take a picture of the page, and it does not compress the images again.
That is why text in the merged file stays selectable and searchable, and why zooming in on a scanned page looks the same as in the original. The merged file is usually close to the combined size of the pages you included.
Merging cannot improve a page that was already low quality. If a scan is blurry in the source file, it will be blurry in the merged file too.
How to write page ranges
Each file has an optional page box. Separate pages and ranges with commas. Spaces are fine. Pages are added in the order you type them.
- 1-3 adds pages 1, 2 and 3.
- 5 adds only page 5.
- 8- adds page 8 to the last page.
- -4 adds page 1 to page 4.
- last adds the final page.
- 5-3 adds pages 5, 4 and 3, in that reverse order.
What is not carried over
Pages, text, images and web links come through intact. Some document-level features belong to the whole file rather than to a page, and those are not copied.
- Bookmarks (the outline panel in a PDF reader) are not kept.
- Fillable form fields may stop working, especially if two files use the same field names. Fill and flatten forms before merging if you need the answers kept.
- Password-protected PDFs can't be merged. Remove the password in the app that created the file, then add it again.

Tips
- Name your files with numbers like 01-cover.pdf, 02-report.pdf, then use Sort A to Z to put them in order in one click.
- Use a page range to drop blank pages or cover sheets while you merge, instead of splitting first.
- You can add the same file twice, for example to repeat a terms page after each section.
- If a file shows a password error, open it in your PDF reader, print it to a new PDF or remove the protection, then add the new file.
- For very large merges on a phone, merge in two or three smaller batches, then merge the results.
Questions
How do I combine PDF files into one?
Add two or more PDFs, put them in order with the arrow buttons, and click Merge. Then download the merged file. It all happens in your browser.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The files are read and merged on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is stored after you close the page.
Does merging reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are, without converting them to images or recompressing pictures. Text stays sharp and searchable.
Is there a file size or file count limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large files depend on your device's memory, because everything is processed locally. Files are handled one at a time to keep memory use down.
Can I merge only some pages from each PDF?
Yes. Type a range like 1-3, 5, 8- in the page box under a file. Leave it empty to include every page.
How do I change the order of the files?
Use the up and down arrow buttons on each file, or click Sort A to Z to order them by file name.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not at the moment. Protected files are flagged in the list. Remove the password in the app that created the file, then add it again.
Will bookmarks and form fields be kept?
Bookmarks are not kept. Fillable form fields may stop working in the merged file. Pages, text, images and web links are kept.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in any modern mobile browser. On older phones, merge very large files in smaller batches.
