Invoice Generator
Make a professional PDF invoice with tax, discounts and logo. Runs in your browser.
About this invoice generator
This free invoice generator makes a clean PDF invoice from a simple form. Add your details, your client, line items with tax and discounts, pick a currency, and download. No sign-up, no watermark.
The invoice updates live as you type, and your draft is saved in this browser. Come back next month, click New invoice, and your business details, logo and terms are still there with the next invoice number filled in.
Nothing is sent to a server. Client names, prices and bank details stay on your device. That's also why your drafts don't follow you to another computer.
Features
Line items with tax and discount
Each line has quantity, rate, tax % and discount %. The discount comes off first, then tax is added to what's left. Totals show tax by rate, like 5% and 18% on separate lines.
Any currency
Pick from every currency your browser knows, with common ones first. Amounts are rounded to the right number of decimals: two for USD or EUR, none for JPY.
Number formats
Show amounts in US style (1,234.56), Indian style (1,23,456.78), German style (1.234,56) and more, independent of the currency.
Logo, color and paper
Add a PNG or JPG logo, choose an accent color, and switch between A4 and US Letter.
Shipping, payments and balance
Add shipping and an amount already paid. The invoice shows the total and the balance due.
Drafts that stay put
Your work saves automatically in this browser. New invoice keeps your details and moves the number from INV-0041 to INV-0042.

When to use it
Freelancers
Bill hours or project milestones to a client, with your bank details in the terms. Then sign the PDF if the client asks for a signed copy.
Small shops and makers
Invoice a wholesale order with quantities, a bulk discount and shipping.
Tutors and consultants
Send a monthly invoice for sessions. The saved draft means you only change the dates and hours.
Cross-border work
Invoice a client abroad in their currency. If you need to agree on a rate first, work out a percentage change or a markup before you fill in prices.
What should an invoice include?
Rules differ by country, but most tax offices and clients expect the same basics. The EU VAT Directive (2006/112/EC, Article 226), for example, lists most of them for VAT invoices.
- The word Invoice and a unique invoice number.
- The invoice date and the payment due date.
- Your business name, address and tax or VAT ID if you have one.
- Your client's name and address.
- A description of each item or service, the quantity and the price.
- Tax rate and tax amount for each rate, and the total.
- How to pay: bank details, payment link or accepted methods.
How are tax and discounts calculated?
For each line, the tool multiplies quantity by rate, takes off the discount percentage, then adds tax on the discounted amount. That's how most sales tax and VAT systems treat a trade discount.
Here's an example. 5 hours at 80 is 400. A 10% discount takes off 40, leaving 360. With 20% VAT, tax is 72, so the line costs 432 in total. The Amount column shows 360, and the 72 appears under Tax (20%) in the totals.
Each line is rounded to the currency's smallest unit before totals are added, so the numbers on the invoice always add up.
How should I number invoices?
Use a sequence that never repeats, like INV-0001, INV-0002, or one that starts with the year, like 2026-014. Many tax systems expect numbers with no gaps or duplicates, so don't reuse a number even if you cancel an invoice.
The New invoice button adds one to the last number for you and keeps any prefix and leading zeros.

Tips
- Put bank details or a payment link in Terms. Clients pay faster when they don't have to ask how.
- Set a due date with the 7, 14 or 30 day buttons. "Net 30" means payment within 30 days of the invoice date.
- Your logo looks best as a PNG with a transparent background. If it's huge, the tool scales it down for you.
- Need a scannable payment link? Make a QR code for it and send it with the invoice.
- Clearing your browser data deletes saved drafts. Download each PDF you send so you have a copy.
Questions
Is this invoice generator really free?
Yes. There's no sign-up, no limit on invoices, and no watermark on the PDF. Everything runs in your browser.
Where is my invoice data saved?
Only in this browser's local storage, on this device. Nothing is sent to a server. Clearing browser data or using a private window removes the draft.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Click Add your logo and choose a PNG or JPG. It appears at the top left of the invoice and is saved with your draft.
Can I make invoices in other currencies?
Yes. Pick any currency from the list. If the PDF font can't show a symbol, such as ₹ or ৳, the invoice uses the currency code instead, like INR 1,250.00.
How do I add tax to an invoice?
Enter the tax rate in the Tax % box on each line. Tax is added after any discount, and the totals list tax for each rate separately.
What's the difference between an invoice and a receipt?
An invoice asks for payment. A receipt confirms payment was made. Once a client pays, you can record it in Amount paid so the balance shows zero.
Can I print the invoice?
Yes. Click Open to print to open the PDF in a new tab, then print it from there. Or download it and print it later.
Can I write the invoice in another language?
Yes, for everything you type, such as the title, item descriptions, notes and terms. Fixed labels like Subtotal stay in English. Scripts outside Western European letters are added to the PDF as sharp images.
